 Name: Dr. Newton (Newt) Geiszler
Canon: Pacific Rim
DOB: January 19, 1990 (age 35 at canon point)
Appearance: 5'6", 139 lbs; green eyes; arms and torso are covered in colorful Kaiju tattoos. Most often wearing: skinny tie, leather jacket, tight pants (ripped at the knees), button-down shirt, doc marten boots, black-rimmed glasses
Occupation: Scientist/xenobiologist for the Pan Pacific Defense Corps. He had 6 doctorate degrees by the age of 25 but he prefers not to be called Doctor.
Personality: Newton wears his colors on his sleeves quite literally. He's vibrant, expressive and has a frenetic energy about him, often waving his hands around wildly as he speaks. Headstrong, Newt follows his heart and isn't afraid to speak his mind or butt heads with someone he disagrees with.
Curious to a fault and not one to back away from a challenge, he will go to great lengths in the pursuit of knowledge. He once risked severe brain damage when he decided to drift alone with a Kaiju brain. While far from fearless, Newt doesn't let his fears prevent him from reaching his goals.
Newt can come off as rude and thoughtless or even narcissistic. Understandably, his personality tends to push others away. However, he craves acceptance and cares deeply for whomever will put up with him. Newt may seem like a jerk sometimes but he always means well and doesn't enjoy seeing others in pain.
His usual disposition is upbeat, talkative and curious with a side of recklessness and rebellion. He is very passionate about his interests.
+ Brilliant, forthright, open and sincere, enthusiastic, energetic, unorthodox, adventurous, creative, bold, vibrant, sure of himself, witty
- Terrible singer, overbearing, intrusive, nit-picky, insular, rude, offensive, loud, manic, stubborn, narcissistic, remote, fidgety, hyperactive Likes: studying Kaiju and other aliens, dancing, singing, music, playing keyboard and guitar, tattoos, electronics, robots, monster movies, comic books/manga
Dislikes: the "nerd stereotype", not being take seriously, jerks, control freaks, following orders, being ignored or alone for too long
Note: After drifting with the two Kaiju brains, Newt has unintentionally formed a link between his mind and the Kaiju masters known as the Precursors, who seek to destroy life on Earth. At his current canon point, he is not yet fully aware of this link and mistakes it for ptsd or a possible brain injury.
